I think the "weather zones" concept needs to be explained here. That's the major enhancement over the existing system.

Otherwise, there are effectively two types of weather effect, cloud cover and ground cover (i.e. snow and mud). The one mainly affects air activity, the latter is essentially a temporary modifier for the terrain.

TOAW has three zones based on horizontal hex lines. SC3 has User Defined Zones and Effects, as seen below. Which system would you rather have, or are you referring to something different?

EDIT: In SC3, each zone is set physically in the Editor, hex by hex [mouse dragging is possible], which can be tedious but allows for greater customization.

I choose...I choose...both!

However, the notion of a drag and select zone seems to have vanished.

We'll see if the programmer can add a 'Select Zone by Mouse Drag' feature to the Jump Map ;)
